This car will be intend to private teams - General Motors has confirmed the end of its Sport Prototype programm with Northstar LMP Cadillac. So they won't be in Le Mans for next 24Hrs race. - York City Rcg Team plan to run in 2003 Le Mans 24Hrs with a Vauxhall VX220 Turbo or maybe with a Porsche. - The TVR factory wish to involve 2 Tuscan Rs for next 2003 Le Mans race - Marshall Cooke Rcg (MCR) has announced that, in 2003, they plan to engage one of their two LMP675 Lola/Millington cars for Le Mans 24Hrs. - Bentley plan to enter two races with 2 Bentley Exp Speed 8 : Sebring 12Hrs and Le Mans 24Hrs - The JMB Rcg USA Team (which is a new team created for ALMS 2003 season, and partnered of JMB Rcg France) plan to participate to Le Mans 24Hrs, using Ferrari Modena 360GT cars. - Dates for Le Mans 2003 : preliminary test on 4th may 2003 and 24Hrs race on 14 and 15th june 2003. One more time, Formule1 Grand Prix are schedules the same days, Barcelone on 4th may and Montréal the 15th june.

- The David Price Rcg Team intend to engage a GT for 2003 Le Mans 24Hrs with a (or more) MG X80 GT. - Death of belgian pilot Philip Verellen, he raced 2 times at Le Mans 24Hrs : in 1993 on a 500LM Venturi with Duez/Bachelart and finished 25th, and on a 911 GT3R Porsche of Club Renstal Excelsior with Penders/Dujardyn and finished 24th. - Nissan is working to prepare a race version of the 350Z, made by Nismo. It will be made by Nismo and answer of LMGT characteristics. - Marcos should have been decided to come back to Le Mans in 2003. - Courage is working since some months on a LMP675 prototype project, maybe for Le Mans 2003 - Audi should come back officialy, the factory will decide it in october, but several cars will be sold to private teams, so we would see some Audi in 2003 - Bentley will come back to Le Mans in 2003, maybe with 3 cars to win the race. - British official marque Ascari has decided to stop sportscars with his Ascari Judd KZR1 to concentrate on his KZ1 supercar project. The Ascari Team was very disappointed when they receved only one entry for Le Mans race. And unfortunately, during the 2002 24Hrs Le Mans race, the Ascari Judd KZR1 n° 21 retired in the first hours when the car crashed after a suspension failure.

He was 66 year old and was pilot in Le Mans for 6 races. From 1978 to 1982, he drove 935 Porsche and did nor finished the race, then he came back in 1984 on 956 Porsche and finished 4th.

This forfeit allowed to n° 27 MG to be present in entry list. Next first car on reserve entry list is the Maranello Ferrari from Prodrive Team. - Panoz Mugen from MBD Sportscars will be driven at Le Mans by Milka Duno (VZ), Didier De Radigues (B) and John Graham (CAN). The second car which was on reserve entry list, was retired. - Pilots for n° 81 GT3 RS Porsche from The Racer's Group Team will be : Kevin Buckler (USA) owner of the team, Lucas Luhr (D) and Timo Bernhard (D) - Ukyo Katayama (J) has joined Pescarolo Sport Team to pilot a C60 Courage Peugeot with Eric Hélary (F) and Stéphane Ortelli (F). The second car will be driven by Jean-Christophe Boullion (F), Sébastien Bourdais (F) and Franck Lagorce (F) - The contract for Michel Vaillant movie was signed with the ACO. Some works are in progress for the built of 2 new pits. The Team DAMS car concerned by the movie, are a Lola for the Vaillante, driven by Michel Neugarten (B), Saascha Maassen (D) and Philippe Gache (F); and a Panoz for the Leader, driven by Perry Mc Carthy (GB), Marc Duez (B) and Jérôme Policand (F)

- The ACO has just revealed the list of competitors accepted for the Le Mans 24 Hrs race. ACO has received 96 form (44 Prototypes and 52 GT). LMP900 : 4 Audi, 1 Riley&Scott, 2 Cadillac, 2 Dome, 3 Panoz + 1 reserve, 3 Courage, 2 Oreca Dallara, 1 Ascari. LMGTP : 1 Bentley. LMP675 : 1 Autoexe, 1 WR, 2 MG + 1 reserve, 2 Reynard LMGTS : 4 Viper, 2 Ferrari Maranello + 1 reserve, 2 Corvette, 3 Saleen LMGT : 3 Ferrari Modena, 7 Porsche GT3 + 3 reserve, 1 Morgan, 1 Spyker In LMP900 categorie, also, the Panoz and Lola Judd of DAMS Team to act the part of the Leader and the Vaillante car for the Luc Besson movie on Michel Vaillant during the race. The reserve cars should run during preliminary session on 5. In case of any renunciation of a titular car, the order of reserve cars given by the ACO will be applied. - A Courage C 60 JX of Courage Compétition Team was selected for Le Mans 24 Hrs. The pilots will be Boris Derichebourg (F), Didier Cottaz (F) and maybe Thed Bjork (SW) or Nicolas Minassian (F) who have already tested the car. - Stephane Ortelli (F) has joined Pescarolo Sport Team. - Kristian Kolby (DK) has signed for Ascari Team for Le Mans. - David Donohue (USA) replace Terry Borcheller on Panoz Motor Sports Team because of his size, in the Panoz cockpit, he couldn't drive confortably. The Team pilots will be David Donohue (USA), Bill Auberlen (USA), Bryan Herta (USA), Eric Van De Poele (B), Jan Magnussen (DK), David Brabham (AUS). - The Spyker Automobielen BV Team has announced Hans Hugenholz (NL), Norman Simon, Peter Kox (NL) as pilot on their Spyker C8 Double 12R for Le Mans. - The Dick Barbour Racing Team will be renamed as MBD Sportscar Team with Panoz cars Mugen Honda powered. - Audi factory will be at Le Mans with 3 official cars, one with Audi Sport North American Team and two with Audi Sport Team Joest. The three new pilots of the team will be Michael Krumm (D), Marco Werner (D) and Philipp Peter (AUS). There will be also one private Audi with japoneese Team Goh International. Pilots are Hiroki Katoh (J), Seiji Ara (J) and Yannick Dalmas (F). - Luc Alphand (F), Olivier Thevenin (F) and Christian Lavieille (F) (also motorbike pilot) are announced on GT3 Porsche car of Luc Alphand Adventures Team. - The Audi R8 of Audi Sport North America Team with Johnny Herbert (GB), Rinaldo Capello (I) and Christian Pescatori (I) won Sebring 12 Hrs.

- Ferrari back to Le mans with 2 Ferrari 550 Maranello of the Team Prodrive, 2 pilotes announced for the moment : Alain Menu (CH) and Rickard Rydell SW). Also, probably 1 or 2 Ferrari 360 Modena with Team JMB. - Bentley with only one EXP Speed 8 for Le Mans. Pilots will be Andy Wallace (GB), Butch Leizinger (USA) and Eric Van De Poele (B). - Sebring 12 hrs will occured on 16th march 2002. - New pilots for new Cadillac Northstar LMP02 : J.J. Lehto (FIN) and Christophe Tinseau (F). For Sebring, pilots will be Bernard / Collard / Lehto and Tinseau / Taylor / Angelelli. - Ascari with 2 KZR1 Judd for Sebring. Pilots will be : T.J. Bell (USA) / Werner Lupberger (AfSud) and Ben Collins (GB) / Christian Vann (GB) - Johnny Kane will pilot a KnightHawk Racing MG Lola for Sebring with team' owners : Steven Knight (USA) and Mel Hawkins (USA). - Larbre Competition Team with 2 Chrysler Viper GTS R in GT FIA championship, and probably at Le Mans. Japoneese pilots will be Seiji Ara (J) and Hiroki Katoh (J). - Yojiro Terada with a WR named Autoexe Mazda rotor motor - There is a film project on Michel Vaillant for next Le Mans 24 hrs. Realisator will be Luc Besson. - The first "Le Mans Classic" will occured on 21 and 22 september. During 24 Hrs on large circuit, with 300 cars, there will be several races with cars of different periods.

- Dick Barbour should come to Le Mans with 2 Panoz (LMP900 Group) with Mugen motor, De Radigues and Graham like pilots. - 4 of 6 Pescarolo Sports pilots will be Hélary, boullion, Bourdais and Lagorce. - In march, Bentley will have a new 100% Bentley motor. Pilots would be Wallace, Leitzinger, Van De Poele and Smith. - The 6 Audi Pilots for Le Mans would be Kristensen, Biela, Pirro, Capello, Herbert and Pescatori. - Lindsay International Sports Ltd should engaged one Lindsay P1 with Rob Wilson and Peter Hannen for Le Mans 24 Hrs - The new Cadillac Northstar LMP02 should raced at Le Mans with Taylor, Angelelli, Bernard and Collard. - Corvette pilots for Le Mans should be : Gavin, Fréon, Fellows, O'Connell, Pilgrim and Collins - The Le Mans motor-bike 24 Hrs will occured on the 13 and 14 of april. - The Daytona 24 Hrs will occured on the 2 and 3 of february.

- The 2002 ACO specifications are on line on the official site lemans.org. 2002 table of events : last entry form must be received on 22/02/2002, publication at the end of march of entry list (48 cars) and reserve car (6), preliminary session on the 5/05/2002, race the 15 and 16 of june. - Audi, Bentley and Yves Courage who will be back, has confirmed their presence for Le Mans 2002 24 Hrs race. - Mike Colucci was injured in a testing crash at Sebring International Raceway on a Porsche - Works on Le Mans circuit just before "S" de la Forêt (or Tertre Rouge). There will be a new left/right curve just before it. - Peugeot will be one year more in association with Pescarolo Sport Team. André De Cortanze joined this team.
