Site officiel : Motor Racing Legends
En lever de rideau de l'édition des 24 Heures du Mans 2004 a eu lieu la course Group C/GTP du Motor Racing Legends. Voitures ayant participé aux 24 Heures du Mans ou autres compétitions dans les années 80 et début des années 90 sous l'appellation Group C ou GTP.
Course disputée sur 8 tours de circuit. 37 voitures engagées, 34 voitures au départ, 29 voitures classées à l'arrivée, mais n'ayant pas forcément reçues le drapeau à damiers, 5 abandons.
Les voitures étaient réparties en 4 catégories.
Victoire de la Nissan R90CK (couleur jaune, "From A") n°27 pilotée par Charlie Agg (GB). Voiture de 1990, avec un moteur turbo de 3500cc.
La Jaguar XJR-11 (blanc et pourpre, "Silk Cut") n° 4 de Gary Pearson (GB) mena pendant une grande partie de la course, mais dû renoncer sur problème mécanique, la tête de la course fut reprise jusqu'à l'arrivée par La Nissan R90CK n° 27 de Charlie AGG. Dans les dernières minutes de la course, la lutte fut terrible entre la Porsche 962 C n° 7 (aux couleurs jaunes et noires de Joest New Man) de Nigel James (GB) et la Porsche 962 CK n° 101 (couleurs noires et rouges, Kremer Kenwood) du jeune Simon Pullan (GB), qui passèrent la ligne d'arrivée roue dans roue avec un avantage de 40 millièmes de seconde pour la Porsche New Man.
Meilleur tour en course pour la Jaguar XJR-11 n° 4 de Gary Pearson (GB) en 3'52"443.
Meileur tour aux essais pour toujours la Jaguar XJR-11 n° 4 de Gary Pearson (GB) en 3'58"549.
